Our Lord and Savoir, Jesus Christ, instructed his disciples to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations”. This is the commission given to his all his ministers, apostles, teachers and children. We are to present The Lord to all the nations as His ambassadors the kingdom of heaven. Every earthly ambassador share common characteristics, they dwell in the land or nation in which their assignment in given, never becoming a citizen of that land. Their citizenship remains with the kingdom that they represent. The second common characteristic that all ambassadors share is that they are very familiar with the customs, language, morals, and culture of the land to which they have been assigned, in order achieve greater effectiveness in relaying the message sent by their king.
We as ambassadors of the kingdom of heaven (through our acceptance of salvation now dwell in a “foreign” land (the world) and are called to represent the interest of our king, Jesus Christ. The Hip-Hop nation is a sub-culture unto itself and as ambassadors of Christ with an understanding the culture, we strive to fulfill the commission that Jesus gave his disciples in the Gospel of Matthew.
The Commission Magazine is committed to presenting the message of salvation to a culture that is in need of it. The hip hop culture has a distinct set of customs, language and morals. Our goals are to communicate the Lord’s message to this sub-culture in their own language, while not conforming to its negative aspects. Serve as a remedy and replacement to the culture’s current source of news, music, and information. Lastly, The Commission and its partners pray that this publication serve as a means to an end, with the ultimate goal being salvation of a unique culture of people. |
